Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the most beloved characters in the sport of boxing.

While at the 52nd Annual WBC Convention inside of the Mirage  Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, the former five-division titlist was once again greeted with adoration by fans and insiders alike.

When around the media, Leonard is always pressed for his thoughts on today’s top headline.

This past weekend, inside of the MGM Grand, British star Amir Khan shined bright with a 12-round outclassing of tough Devon Alexander.

“I saw the last couple rounds,” Leonard said of Amir’s performance. “I didn’t see enough, but he did what he had to do.”

Khan is angling towards a lucrative 2015 shot vs. Floyd Mayweather but Leonard doesn’t know if that’s is a jump he is ready for.

“That’s tough,” Leonard stated. “That’s a whole different horizon but I like what I see in Amir.”

As for Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao possibly being the one to get a crack at Mayweather, Leonard was vague with his response.

“Everything is a process,” said Leonard. “Life is a process and I wish them all the best.”
