When we found out that Damien “Sugar” Vasquez was set to be a part of the Premier Boxing Champions movement, we knew it marked a significant moment in his young career.

We began hearing about Vasquez back when he was just 15 years old and making a name for himself in the city by sparring some veteran pros at the time. Vasquez made his pro debut down in Mexico at just 16 years of age and he began racking up the wins as his career has progressed.

He turned heads by capturing the NABF junior flyweight title in his just his sixth pro bout and all along his journey, Vasquez has stayed calm and poised, just as he is inside of the ring. It’s as if he and his team, led by father Oscar, knew what was coming all along.

On Oct. 14, in Glendale, Ariz., Vasquez improved to 8-0 (3 KO’s) with a commanding six-round unanimous decision over tough but outgunned Javier Lapizco (7-2, 2 KO’s).

Check below for an inside look at Vasquez’s camp ahead of the match as well as fight highlights.
