It’s been a pleasure watching the career progression of Dallas native Errol Spence Jr. from an up close perspective.
We first chopped up with Spence in January of 2013 following his 3rd professional match, a 1st round TKO over Nathan Butcher inside of the Hard Rock out here in Las Vegas, and he has since gone on to carve out an impressive 16-0 record with 13 knockouts in the welterweight class.
Along the way we’ve been there for some of Spence’s wild sparring sessions with Floyd Mayweather, and some of his candid moments behind the scenes around our city, that have showcased both his great potential in the sport as well as his low key and focused demeanor.
There are solid indications that Spence will next face off with rugged veteran Roberto Garcia on June 20 in Las Vegas and this represents a definite turning point in his career.
HustleBoss.com recently saw down with Errol Spence during his recent swing through Las Vegas for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Fight Weekend, and caught up with him on all kind of subjects, from his time sparring the game’s best, his amateur memories with some of the game’s top young stars, and why he signed with Al Haymon prior to turning pro.
Check below for the 14-minute interview with Spence as well as some other highlights from his time on Hustle Boss.
