Moments ago, inside of the Venetian Resort’s Coati Arena in Macau, China, former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao returned with a commanding victory over a game Brandon Rios.
The early rounds saw Pacquiao come out of the gates blazing with sharp punches from all angles. Rios seemed out of his element in the first round and ate his share of leather.
In rounds two and three, Rios had moments of success where he would tag Pacquiao with clubbing shots, but not enough to where he appeared to with either frame.
Pacquiao began to turn up the heat in the following rounds and looked to have a big lead through six rounds.

On paper, tonight’s Manny Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios clash from the Venetian Resort’s Coati Arena in Macau, China sees several advantages lying with Pacquiao.
Not only is Rios moving up in weight, he has yet to deal with a southpaw with so many weapons as Pacquiao, including speed, power, and the ability to throw punches from a variety of angles.
Rios’ crude and pressing style has seen him do well thus far, but some feel that he may be tailor made for Pacquiao.
According to two-time heavyweight champion George Foreman, however, it is Rios who may be able to work his way towards a victory in the later rounds.

According to a report from Matt Moore of CBSSports.com on Friday night, Nov. 22, NBA star guard Derrick Rose once again suffered a knee injury.
The incident happened when the Bulls point guard was visiting for a game against the Portland Trailblazers.
The injury actually occurred on the opposite leg from the one in which Rose tore his ACL in April of 2012. That injury caused Rose to miss the remainder of the playoff season as well as the entire 2012-2013 season.
On Friday night, there was no contact with Rose, as he simply saw it buckle underneath him as he was running underneath the basket.

No stranger to the world-class stage, boxing great Roy Jones Jr. assessed the matchup with me during a recent rapid-fire discussion.
“That’s a good fight,” Jones claimed. “Pacquiao is clearly the better boxer. Rios is clearly the better brawler. If Pacquiao can make it a boxing match, he wins easily. If Rios can make it a brawl, he can probably can win.”
The left-handed stylist from the Philippines, Pacquiao is a clear favorite heading into his match with the all-action Rios.
