This past October, former WBO middleweight champion Hassan N’dam N’jikam lost his title in a wild fight with Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin inside of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Despite often setting the tempo of the contest, N’jikam suffered six knockdowns in the course of twelve rounds that ultimately sealed his fate.

While not much had been heard about the Cameroon native following his first professional loss, N’jikam was spotted yesterday inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas getting in some work.

While it’s unknown whether N’jikam is in the area to simply hone his boxing skills or for other reasons related to his career, he did find time to spar with two promising prospects in his first week in Vegas.

“We sparred like three or four rounds,” undefeated middleweight hopeful J’Leon Love told me of his time in the ring with N’jikam on Wednesday afternoon.

“Nothing special, but you can see he had experience and it was just good boxing all the way around,” Love continued. “He’s not a slouch. He was a champion. He made me work and I made him work.”

N’jikam also shared the squared circle with super middleweight prospect and former Swedish Olympian Badou Jack (12-0, 9 KO’s) on Thursday.

“It was good work,” Jack stated. “He’s a very good and fast boxer. My jab was working good and it was just another day at work you know. I like the guy; he’s a very nice and humble guy.”

Jack added that a clash of heads caused a minor cut on N’jikam but it’s nothing that will hinder his training.

As for Jack and Love, they will see action later this month in Detroit on the 23rd on the undercard of the Cornelius ‘K9’ Bundrage-Ishe Smith junior middleweight championship bout.

As mentioned before, there is still some uncertainty as to why N’jikam was at the gym today but I’ve been told that Floyd Mayweather has shown some interest in perhaps adding the 28-year-old prizefighter to his Mayweather Promotions umbrella.

Expect more updates tomorrow.
