The buzz for a super fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is once again high, as several people took notice to BoxRec.com’s update about the matchup being official for May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While the post has since been removed, it was a simple update that seemed to turn heads.

“The whole world heard about it,” trainer and former IBO junior lightweight champion Jeff Mayweather said Tuesday afternoon during some down time from training.

“If it was only up for a second it didn’t really mean anything,” Jeff added. “It just got people riled up and excited about nothing.”

Life moves on but word behind the scenes is that there is a great chance the fight actually pushes through.

For the modest-speaking Mayweather, he has his uncertainties.

“People still want the fight to happen but nobody really knows,” Jeff noted.
