When Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao came face to face in Miami last night during the Bucks-Heat game, the world was set ablaze with curiosity, chatter, and hope.

For the past five years, the two prize fighters have intrigued the boxing world and the general public with the possibility of a dream fight taking place, but seeing Mayweather and Pacquiao speaking to one another was definitely a positive sign to many.

The reports vary every day and there is no real certainty that we will  be seeing Floyd Mayweather face off with Manny Pacquiao in 2015 or at all.

The latest buzz has Mayweather possibly meeting up with Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto on May 2 in a rematch of their intense 2012 encounter that Floyd won via unanimous decision.

The buzz for a super fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is once again high, as several people took notice to BoxRec.com’s update about the matchup being official for May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While the post has since been removed, it was a simple update that seemed to turn heads.

As Floyd Mayweather eyes his 48th professional bout, there is still speculation as to who his dance partner will be when he returns, likely in May.

Mayweather is coming off of a pair of decision victories of Argnetina’s Marcos Maidana this year and the two most formidable names out there are Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao.

A few weeks removed from his 47th victory as a professional, Floyd Mayweather has been enjoying some much deserved down time by jet setting the globe over, including recent stops in Turkey, Paris, and London, England.

Mayweather won a 12-round unanimous decision over Marcos Maidana in their rematch inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sep. 13 and he is slated to return in May.

And while Floyd continues to enjoy himself abroad, back in his home base of Vegas, people have begun to speculate his ring return.

While there is still heavy uncertainty in the air, it seems very possible that we could be seeing a fifth fight between rivals Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez later this year.

Pacquiao is 2-1-1 in his series with Marquez but suffered a horrific knockout loss to the Mexico City legend during their fourth encounter.

And while the two men always make for great action, not everyone is backing another melee.

Despite losing his May 3 fight against Floyd Mayweather, the stock on Marcos Maidana is as high as ever.

The rugged Argentinean came up short against Mayweather on the scorecards by way of a majority decision but he had several telling moments in the fight and performed far better than many expected he would.

One man not overly impressed is Las Vegas-based trainer Jeff Mayweather, who felt his nephew purposely chose to engage Maidana in a dog fight rather than box his way towards victory.
