The reports vary every day and there is no real certainty that we will  be seeing Floyd Mayweather face off with Manny Pacquiao in 2015 or at all.

The latest buzz has Mayweather possibly meeting up with Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto on May 2 in a rematch of their intense 2012 encounter that Floyd won via unanimous decision.

Cotto has since rejuvenated his career after teaming up with trainer Freddie Roach and he is coming off of a destruction of Sergio Martinez this past summer that secured him a championship in a 4th weight class. And while a rematch with Mayweather may not be what everyone is anticipating, yet it still figures to be a competitive fight.

Catching up with Mayweather’s Uncle Jeff, a former IBO junior lightweight champion and current day trainer to several promising talents, he doesn’t look at a rematch with Cotto as being too dangerous.

“It would be another easy win for Floyd, that’s all,” Jeff stated recently to HustleBoss.com.

Jeff was asked for his thoughts on the reaction that would come if Mayweather vs. Pacquiao doesn’t materialize.

“I think that would be a disappointment for the public because that’s the public’s demand,” said Jeff. “But it’s one of those situations where you can’t force a guy to fight you. I know that Bob has something to do with the fight not happening. But who really knows? I guess everybody is going to wait and see.”
