Delante “Tiger” Johnson scored one of the most impressive victories of his young career on March 29 at the Fountainbleau in Las Vegas by stopping Kendo Castaneda in the fifth round.
Johnson (15-0, 7 KO’s) was especially sharp in his welterweight debut, dropping Castaneda twice before referee Raul Caiz Jr. halted the action two minutes into round five.
Clocked in TV was in training camp with Johnson weeks before his fight, at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas, and he looked especially sharp ahead of a key fight in a new weight class.

Castaneda is no pushover, and he usually gives a solid account of himself against top fighters, so it was very impressive for Johnson to dominate in the fashion he did.
Johnson has been developing well under the tutelage of former fighter Prenice Brewer and Ramon Matthews Jr. and each fight from this point forward becomes more important.
