The odds have been against the Los Angeles Lakers all season and now that they have made the playoffs, doubters remain.
According to a report from the Los Angeles Times on Friday, April 19, Las Vegas odds makers are giving the team a very slim chance of winning the 2013 NBA Playoffs.
It appears that the Lakers only have a 12% chance of even making it out of the first round against the San Antonio Spurs, who they meet this Sunday.
With their floor general Kobe Bryant sitting on the sidelines due to his Achilles injury, the Lakers are a 75-1 longshot to win another title.
The Miami Heat, the league’s reigning champions, are 5-8 favorites to take the crown yet again.
With power forward Lebron James playing some of his best ball, Miami has been looking stellar as ever, as evidenced by a recent 27-game winning streak.
The Heat are followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder (5 to 1 odds), the Spurs (12-1), New York Knicks (16-1), and Los Angeles Clippers (25-1), according to odds makers.
