You should never let a record in boxing deceive you.

When taking a look at junior lightweight prospect Cameron Kreal, who fights out of Las Vegas, it may be easy to dismiss to his 8-9-2 record (1 KO) as being average but there is far more to his record than meets the eye.

Kreal is a tough and talented fighter, and he has already faced 10 unbeaten opponents during his short run as a professional. Many of Kreal’s losses are also dubious, as we were present for many of his fights and can attest to just how competitive the action has been every time Kreal enters the ring.

Following a disappointing six-round decision loss to Alex Martin this past December, Kreal hasn’t had anything lined up since, but he did make a memorable visit to Johnny Tocco’s recently to put in some work. Kreal faced off with one of the gym’s top amateurs, Daijon Carter, for some spirited back-and-forth work.

The sparring was part of Tocco’s “First Friday” exhibition series. Check out the video for a closer look.
