With their backs against the wall, the New York Knicks delivered a very impressive victory on the road, upsetting the Indiana Pacers 106-100 in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
With the emphatic victory, the Knicks now trail in the series, 2-1.
The Knicks overcame a 20-point deficit, showing grit and resolve, as they used a big fourth quarter to seize momentum.
Karl-Anthony Towns started the game quietly, yet he was dominant in the fourth, scoring 20 of his 24 points in the final period while grabbing 15 rebounds in the game.
Knicks All-NBA guard Jalen Brunson battled foul trouble early, but finished with 23 points, helping close out the win.
Indiana’s offense stalled, as they shot just 5-for-25 from three (20%), their worst showing from deep in these playoffs.
Tyrese Haliburton led Indiana with 20 points and six assists, while Myles Turner added 19 points.
The Knicks trailed by 13 at halftime (58-45) and the Pacers maintained a double-digit lead through much of the third quarter. The Knicks entered the fourth quarter trailing 80-70.
Towns took over in the fourth, scoring inside and out, while Josh Hart made a crucial late rebound and a pair of free throws to extend the Knicks’ lead in the final seconds.
The Knicks have cut the Pacers’ series lead to 2-1, shifting momentum ahead of Game 4 in Indianapolis.
