Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks Game 3 Preview

By Dennis Guillermo

Beat the Knicks and kiss the bricks!

That’s the itinerary for Indy sports fans today with the 109th running of the Indy 500 happening on the same day the Indiana Pacers try to take a commanding 3-0 lead on the New York Knicks in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

Indy Memorial Day weekend ain’t just a vibe, it’s a full-blown takeover in Nap Town.

The Brickyard’s packed to the rafters, 350K deep, first sellout since ’16.
Hours later, Gainbridge Fieldhouse will be rocking as the gold-out sellout crowd will be looking for blood against their bitter rival Knicks. With the Pacers snatching two dubs in the Big Apple, hoops hysteria in Indiana is at a fevered pitch and will surely explode in the arena in the culmination of an exciting Memorial weekend.

Can Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers deliver again?

With the Knicks looking to shuffle their rotation and desperately looking for any adjustments to turn the tide, the Pacers need to be focused more than ever and prevent a repeat of their Game 3 performance in the previous round against the Cavs where they were handily beaten and embarrassed at home after also stealing two games on the road against the #1 seed.

I expect the Pacers to come out strong and possibly blow out the Knicks if they can jump on their frazzled opponents.

If the Knicks finally show a sense of desperation and come out shooting the lights out, it’ll be a dog fight. The Knicks are still capable of beating Indy if they can overcome the mental devastation of the previous two losses like the Wolves did yeaterday against OKC.

The difference is they will have to do it on the road away from their rabid but temporarily shell-shocked Knicks fans.
