There was much buzz in the air last night following Amir Khan’s dominant 12-round unanimous decision victory over Devon Alexander.
Facing off on Showtime’s airwaves, Khan was simply too fast, too precise, and too good for his formidable foe from St. Louis. Scorecards reading 120-108, 119-109, and 118-110 were read in the British star’s favor, as he eyes bigger business in 2015.
For the 28-year old Khan, there are plenty of options, none bigger than a huge pay per view duel with Floyd Mayweather.
Having suffered his own personal defeat to Khan four and a half years ago, the always-affable Paulie Malignaggi insists Amir is more of a threat to Mayweather than potential foe from the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao.
“Amir is more dangerous to Floyd than Manny Pacquiao,” Malignaggi stated post-fight. “Styles make fights. That’s the thing about boxing. I still think he’s the most dangerous guy to Floyd Mayweather.”
