Two days before Adrien Broner goes for his fourth world title in his home state of Ohio, the Cincinnati native and his opponent, Russia’s Khabib Allakhverdiev, participated in a final press conference inside of the U.S. Bank Arena, where they will meet on Saturday night in an SHOWTIME-televised clash.
Broner (30-2, 22 KO’s) is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Shawn Porter on June 20 and he has kept a quiet approach towards his dealings with the media in the wake of that defeat.
And with Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KO’s) looming, he insists he will continue to keep mum.
“I told you I wouldn’t do any interviews or talk,” said Broner. “Nothing has changed. I just want to thank everyone for coming. I will be victorious on Saturday night, October 3.”
