This weekend, Rashad Ganaway will return to the ring in a very important matchup against the underrated Hylon Williams Jr.
Ganaway (17-5-1, 10 KO’s) and Williams (16-2-1, 3 KO’s) will meet inside of the Clear Channel Metroplex in Little Rock, Ar. on Saturday night, Aug. 20, with the IBF/USBA lightweight belt on the line.
It’s a very interesting clash of styles featuring two fighters on different career runs. Ganaway has won three straight, including winning the vacant NABF junior welterweight belt in his last appearance, a ninth round stoppage over previously once-beaten Karim Martinez in Dallas in May.
Williams dropped his last fight, suffering a ten-round unanimous decision loss to former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa over ten rounds this past December, but gave a solid account of himself. Williams’ only other defeat was a decision loss to reigning IBF lightweght titlist Rances Barthelemy in 2012.
Ganaway was seen putting some finishing touches on his camp on Monday afternoon inside of Phase 1 Sports in Las Vegas. Check below for a closer look and stay tuned for a video highlight as well.
