Simeon Hardy faces Vito Gasparyan on ESPN2
By Chris Robinson
It was a few years back when I crossed paths with Guyanese-born Simeon Hardy in Las Vegas.
At the time Hardy was getting a feel for the city, both from putting in work inside of local gyms as well as checking out the Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado rematch from the Mandalay Bay, and you could tell instantly of his deep desires in boxing.
Time went by and Hardy picked up plenty of experience, from sparring the likes of Jessie Vargas in Vegas to Marcos Maidana out in Southern California.
Having relocated to New York, where he is working with mentor and respected trainer Colin Morgan at the Trinity Boxing Gym, Hardy now finds himself lined up with an ESPN2 “Friday Night Fights” date vs. Vito Gasparyan this weekend. Hardy faces the tough Armenian inside of the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. as part of the next Boxcino Tournament.
“I’m excited about being in the ring again and I’ve been working and I’m ready,” Hardy told HustleBoss.com of the matchup.
And while time has passed since our initial conversation, Hardy insists he has learned plenty.
“Since my time in Vegas I’ve been able to cultivate my ability,” Hardy stated. “I’ve had much experience in the USA for the last two years and it’s been great for me. It’s time to fight and win and continue my journey.”
