It’s been well over a year since welterweight prospect Joseph Elegele’s last match.

Facing off with Javier Molina inside of The Hangar in Costa Mesa, Calif. in March of 2013, Elegele dropped a competitive unanimous decision after eight rounds of action.

Scores reading 78-72 and 77-75 twice may have told the tale of a good scrap, but the tallies did little to showcase just how disappointing of an evening that was for Elegele.

The following months have certainly been a test of the Melbourne, Fl. native’s resolve and Elegele admits that sometimes his belief has wavered.

Elegele will return to Vegas following his fight to help Floyd Mayweather get ready for his May 4th bout with southpaw Robert Guerrero

As first reported by HustleBoss.com, welterweight prospect Joseph Elegele (13-1, 10 KO’s) will be serving as one of Floyd Mayweather’s sparring partners ahead of his May 4th bout with Robert Guerrero.

For a closer look at the Melbourne, Florida lefty, please check out a recent sparring session of his with fellow prospect Cortez Bey (8-1-1, 4 KO’s) inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club.

Elegele faces off with Javier Molina on March 9th.
