On Saturday night, Feb. 16, in Houston, Texas, Terrence Ross of the Toronto Raptors would emerge victorious in this year’s Slam Dunk Contest during the NBA All-Star weekend, as he beat out Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz in the finals.

While the overall landscape of this year’s Dunk competition was a little off, as several of the participants missed their dunks on repeated occasions, Ross pulled everything together in the finals. His highlight was a between-the-legs dunk over a young child that seemed to give him the edge.

Following his performance, several fans weighed in on Ross’ display, with Youtube user CanEHdian7 stating “T Ross stole the show!”

Meanwhile, user tallperson696 seemed satisfied with this year’s competition, noting “it was pretty nice; way better than the last two.”

A shooting guard for the Raptors, the 22-year-old Ross went to college at Washington. He is enjoying his rookie season in the league by averaging 6.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
His victory tonight will erase the sour note that has come with the Raptors’ 21-32 season thus far.
