It seems like just yesterday when I first crossed paths with young upstart Timothy Lee.

Then just 16 years old at the time, I could instantly tell that Lee had very high ambitions for himself, as he was then dividing his time between training in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

A few years later and the beat goes on for Lee, who is now 19 years old and 1-0 as a professional in the welterweight ranks. Lee’s debut came on June 11 when he stopped Stephen Chad McKinney in the first round.

Lee signed on with powerful advisor Al Haymon earlier this year and should expect to be moved fast.

Earlier this past week, in Las Vegas inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club, we ran into Lee as he was finishing up some sparring with super middleweight/light heavyweight contender Lionell “Lonnie B” Thompson.

Lee lives a little bit outside of the Los Angeles area in Rancho Cucamonga these days and paid the gym ahead of his second pro bout, set for Thursday, Aug. 27 in Costa Mesa, Calif. against Carl Deaton (1-1)

“It’s the best work in the world,” Lee said. “Everywhere I’ve been, I’ve never had work like this.”

As for his bout with Deaton, Lee is dead set on another early night.

“I’m going for another first round knockout,” he stated.
