On Sunday afternoon, July 21, unbeaten welterweight hopeful Sammy Vasquez will step into the ring in the biggest fight and perhaps stiffest challenge of his young career.

The 29-year old Vasquez (18-0, 13 KO’s) will be facing off with Wale Omotoso (25-1, 16 KO’s) in a CBS attraction as to be seen under the “Premier Boxing Champions” flagship.

And while Omotoso will certainly present a tough litmus test, with his only loss being a 10-round decision to Jessie Vargas in a tough fight, one close look at Vasquez shows a fighter who is eager for the spotlight.

Vasquez, a southpaw from Monessen, Pennsylvania, has power in both fists and moves with nice deft inside of the ring.

His mental toughness, coupled with his modest and approachable demeanor, make him one to look out for.
