As the days pass by, the boxing world continues to wait on any kind of announcement in regards to a Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao matchup.

Despite premature reports on the matchup being set, the buzz continues to remain high that we’ll see the two best from this generation square off sometime in 2015.

Former champion Wayne McCullough recently assessed the situation.

“Mayweather-Pacquiao has to happen,” McCullough told HustleBoss.com recently. “What other fights do they have out there for those guys? [It’s] the fight everybody wants to see and it will generate a lot of money for the economy.”

What the Northern Ireland native does feel is that the match needs to happen in the coming months or we will never see it come to fruition.

“If it doesn’t happen this year it will never happen,” McCullough added.

If the fight does go down, McCullough, who used to spar with Mayweather on occasion, favors Floyd heavily.

“I think Manny’s made for Floyd,” McCullough claimed. “I think Floyd beats him every day of the week.”
