As we head into the final stretch of fights in 2013, the last pay per view event to close out the year will be Manny Pacquiao’s return against all-action Brandon Rios, who he is set to meet on Nov. 23 in Macau, China in an HBO pay per view clash.

For some, the biggest intrigue heading into the match is what version of Pacquiao we are going to see.

This past December, the Filipino star was knocked out in brutal fashion, as he was left lying unconscious after taking a counter right hand from Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round of their fourth encounter.

Nearing 35 years old and coming off of such a devastating loss, it’s understandable why Pacquiao may have some doubters these days.

When asked about the matchup with Rios, veteran trainer Miguel Diaz, who has worked Pacquiao’s corner as a cut man for the past nine fights, seems to feel his charge will bounce back impressively next month.

Peter Quillin vs. Gabriel Rosado: Quillin gets the win after ref stops fight due to Rosado’s bad cut

In an excellent fight, WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin successfully defended his WBO middleweight crown after challenger Gabriel Rosado saw the fight stopped in the 10th round due to a nasty cut on his left eyelid. Quillin scored a knockdown in the second round but Rosado picked up a lot of momentum after that and appeared to be taking a lot of the late rounds. A jab from Quillin would cause the eventual cut that forced the ringside physician to halt the action. At the time of the stoppage, scorecards reading 90-80, 89-81, and 87-83 all favored Quillin. To be honest the first two scores were completely off base, as this was a competitive fight

On Saturday night, Oct. 27, WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin found himself in a rough and tumble battle with Gabriel Rosado inside of the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Despite dropping his Philadelphia foe in the second round with a quick left hook, Quillin had to battle through some rocky moments, as Rosado regrouped and forced the fight for many of the following rounds.

Much of the action was give and take, with Quillin landing the sharper punches while Rosado had success imposing his physical strength and unleashing combinations along the ropes.

Rosado would suffer a nasty cut above his left eye in the ninth round, with the gash being bad enough for referee Allan Huggins to elect to stop the action to check it out one round later.
