It’s been good to see Deontay Wilder so energetic and focused in Saudi Arabia these past few days.
This coming Saturday, Dec. 23, Wilder will face off with former WBO champion Joseph Parker, as the co-headliner of a historic night of boxing inside of the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, titled “Day of Reckoning”.

On Saturday night, November 25, David “El Monstruo” Benavídez once again showed his full arsenal, as he dominated former two-division champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, scoring a stoppage after the sixth round of their SHOWTIME pay-per-view main event from Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Benavídez (28-0, 24 KOs) was in rare form, despite a valiant and gutsy effort from Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs), who boxed well and held his own early on. Benavidez dropped Andrade with a looping punch just seconds before the end of the fourth round, and you could sense that the fight had completely shifted.
Magic 2023 was in full swing, and the second leg of Las Vegas reminded me of the good old days from a decade ago as wholesalers and suppliers packed the Convention Center if not to escape the scorching 115 heat, but to also connect and reconnect with partners, clients and old acquaintances.
One new amazing feature at the convention center that we didn’t have back in the day is the Tesla Tunnel. I’ve seen some videos and heard through colleagues about it, but to actually ride it is truly impressive.

This past Saturday night, inside of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV, Martin (18-0, 12 KO’s) edged his very tough Armenian opponent, Artem Harutyunyan, over 12 intense rounds of action. Martin rallied late, forcing Hartutyunyan (12-1, 7 KO’s) to take a knee in the final round, as he saw scorecards reading 114-113 and 115-112 (x2) go in his favor.

Tizzle Berries continue to go strong in Las Vegas (Photo: J Tizzle)

When I first caught word about “Tizzle Berries” hitting the city, it must have been inside of the Mayeather Boxing Club out here in Las Vegas.
Tizzle Berries, as seen on their growing Instagram Page, are strawberries filled with cheesecake filling with a variety of different toppings. There is a good buzz going for the berries at the moment, and it’s the kind of snack that people in Las Vegas can appreciate given the constant hustle and bustle in the city and how hard it can be to often find something original to eat in town. This past weekend, inside of the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., two-division world champion Timothy Bradley defeated previously undefeated junior welterweight titlist Jessie Vargas over the course of 12 rounds.
A lot of Bradley’s best traits were on display during the HBO-televised attraction, including his sheer grit, volume-punching, and ability to fight in closed quarters. The Palm Springs native overcame a spirited effort from Vargas before pulling away for the decision. Continue reading →

These days, the action inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club has slowed up noticeably in the wake of Vegas’ latest double header.
The Adrien Broner vs. Shawn Porter bout took place on Saturday, June 20 and the next day Rances Barthelemy defeated Antonio DeMarco in the main event of a Sunday afternoon card. Both shows took place from the MGM Grand. Continue reading →
Floyd Mayweather, pictured here with 50 Cent, seems to be everyone’s favorite villain these days (Photo: WarmJello.com)

With every hero, comes a villain. And if there are no true villains available, one of the heroes will have to become the antagonist to all that is good.
While there is sufficient proof that Mayweather is far from being the sinner that part of the boxing community believes him to be, due to his questionable behavior and career choices, many boxing fans crave his loss. Being the businessman that he is, Mayweather takes full advantage of the situation, making people pay a premium for the hope to see the villain fall. Continue reading →
