Andre Berto and his team inside of City Athletic Boxing in Las Vegas days before his bout vs. Floyd Mayweather this past Saturday
By Chris Robinson
This past Saturday in Las Vegas, former WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto gave a spirited effort against perennial pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather, ultimately dropping a unanimous decision loss after 12 rounds.
Fighting inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the second time in his career, you could tell that Berto (30-4, 23 KO’s) was in top physical shape as he attempted to break through Mayweather (49-0, 26 KO’s), even making the contest interesting on a few occasions.
Berto, 31, saw his career dip a little bit in notoriety following some setbacks to the likes of Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero, and Jesus Soto Karass in recent years, but with his effort on Saturday he is guaranteed another return showcase on some type of big stage.
At Hustle Boss we found out that the Haitian-born American fighter and his trainer Virgil Hunter, chose to spend their final days in Las Vegas training out the newly-opened City Athletic Boxing.
Check out the video below for a highlight of Berto’s training just days away from his historical match with Mayweather.
