There will always be some kind of buzz about the possibility of a Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao matchup going down.

Following his dominant victory over Chris Algieri on Nov. 22, Pacquiao has again established himself as the biggest possible threat to Mayweather, who is coming off of a pair of decision victories over Marcos Maidana this year.

There is even random talk of huge offers from the United Arab Emirates these days, so there definitely is some kind of interest in the air.

But as far as brash Brooklyn native Paulie Malignaggi is concerned, talk is just talk.

“I don’t know,” Malignaggi said during a recent interview with ThaBoxingVoice.com’s Nestor Gibbs.

“I’ve heard even more rumors than the ones you told me,” the former two-division champ added. “I remember when I was a world champion; I had offers form Abu Dhabi. Run of the mill type stuff.”

Pacquiao’s match vs. Algieri, which took place from Macau, China on HBO pay per view, reportedly disappointed in sales, reason enough for Malignaggi to believe Manny is in no position to demand anything at the negotiating table.

“Right now, Pacquiao has shown that he’s not a draw at all,” Malignaggi claimed. “When you are selling 1/3 of what pay per views Floyd is selling, you deserve 1/3 of the money.

“Whatever the case is, you have to come together and try to make the fight,” he added. “Take a 1/3 of the money on the table, win the fight if you are that good, and in the rematch, take all the money.”

Malignaggi believes that Pacquiao and his side know what kind of reality would come with a Floyd fight.

“Manny knows the fight isn’t competitive,” Malignaggi claimed. “Arum knows the fight isn’t completive. That’s why they want all that money in one shot. That fight’s not even close. It’s all a mirage. Mayweather washes him.”
