WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas has agreed to face IBF titlist Kell Brook later this year, likely over the in UK, in one of the year’s bigger showdowns.

Vargas (27-1, 10 KO’s) is riding a new high in his career following a ninth-round TKO over previously undefeated Sadam Ali this past March and the Brook clash is something he has been seeking.

Vargas is now being trained by former kickboxing champion Dewey Cooper and his assistant David Hayes and the trio could be spotted together earlier this week inside of City Athletic Boxing in West Las Vegas.
