Photos from the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York, as former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KO’s) overcame a spirited effort from former titlist Chris Algieri (20-2, 8 KO’s) over 12 rounds.

Algieri was dropped six times and whitewashed in his previous match, a one-sided loss to Manny Pacquiao this past November, but he showed his worth last night, often catching his British foe with stiff rights and counters throughout the match.

Ultimately, however, it was Khan who was just a little busier and sharper after 12. The 28-year old is now eyeing the big prize,a lucrative clash vs. Floyd Mayweather later in the year if he gets his wish.
