This past Saturday night, inside of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Amir Khan overcame a very courageous Chris Algieri over 12 rounds.

Algieri was coming off of a lopsided unanimous decision defeat to Manny Pacquiao in November and he was a heavy underdog. Instead, the sharp-witted New Yorker found a way to prove the odds wrong by putting up a very spirited effort and even catching Khan with some big shots along the way.

Good catching up with aspiring pro Allante Williams out here in Vegas.

Remember seeing Allante training at the Mayweather Boxing Club last year, as he told me his story of trying to break through the pro ranks without any true backing.

Photos from the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York, as former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KO’s) overcame a spirited effort from former titlist Chris Algieri (20-2, 8 KO’s) over 12 rounds.

Algieri was dropped six times and whitewashed in his previous match, a one-sided loss to Manny Pacquiao this past November, but he showed his worth last night, often catching his British foe with stiff rights and counters throughout the match.
