On the Robert Guerrero vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai undercard from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., three fighters who train out of the Las Vegas area all scored victories.
Former light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (32-3, 18 KO’s) returned to stop veteran George Blades (23-6, 16 KO’s) in under one round. This was the first fight for Dawson following his upset loss to Adonis Stevenson last year.
Lightweight contender Sharif Bogere (25-1, 17 KO’s) stopped Miguel Zamudio after three rounds of action. The win is Bogere’s second since his points loss to WBA lightweight champion Richar Abril last year.
Former U.S. Olympian and heavyweight prospect Michael Hunter won an eight-round unanimous decision over Jerry Forrest. Hunter often trains out of the Mayweather Boxing Club and sees his record rise to 5-0 with 3 knockouts.
Also seeeing action, heavyweight prospect Dominic Breazeale defeated Devin Vargas for a third round stoppage to go to 11-0 with 9 knockouts.
