Updates from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as super middleweight prospect Luis ‘Cuba’ Arias (5-0, 3 KO’s) wins a six-round majority decision over DonYil Livingston (8-3-1, 4 KO’s) in a fight that he admitted he could have looked better in. It was a war of attrition, but Arias’ better workrate and overall volume of heavy punches paved the way for victory.
Arias vs. Livingston took place on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Robert Guerrero Showtime pay per view undercard.

Moments before the tense weigh-in between Floyd Mayweather and Robert Guerrero, I crossed paths with Mexico City’s Juan Manuel Marquez.
Mayweather (43-0, 26 KO’s) defends his WBC welterweight crown later tonight against Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a Showtime pay per view attraction and Marquez showed himself to be intrigued when asked for his thoughts on the matchup.
“I think this is a tough fight for the two fighters, but the fight is a tougher fight for Guerrero [because of] Mayweather’s style,” stated the four-division champion. “His speed, he counterpunches very good. It’s a difficult style.”

Earlier today, inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather (43-0, 26 KO’s) and WBC interim champion Robert Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) both made weight comfortably ahead of their clash tomorrow night on Showtime pay-per-view.
Following each man’s weigh-in, the two fighters faced off and stared each other down for a lengthy while. You could tell that at any given moment, things were about to get hectic.
And while things appeared to be tense, no real physical altercation took place. Guerrero came in at 147 pounds while Mayweather hit the scales at 146 pounds.
Each man appears to be in tremendous shape and there is a strong feeling amongst press row that we will be seeing a more physical type of match than expected.
