Moments ago, inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, Manny Pacquiao captured a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Tim Bradley.

The action was intense from the get-go, as the two men appeared to be trading rounds with one another through the first four frames.

Pacquiao had success with sharp lefts while Bradley countered by staying aggressive and getting in his foe’s chest. The action was hot and the crowd was caught up in all of the theatrics.

Given each man’s modest approach in life, it was hardly a surprise to see Tim Bradley and Manny Pacquiao show so much respect towards one another while hosting their kickoff press conference this past Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Having upset Pacquiao via a highly-controversial split-decision in June of 2012, Bradley has never tried to discredit the Filipino star’s abilities or downplay him as a threat.

Still, when reflecting back on Pacquiao’s unanimous decision victory over Brandon Rios this past November, a fight that came nearly a year after Manny’s knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, Bradley seemed to see a softer version of the eight-division titlist who has stormed through so many capable foes.

“He wasn’t really willing to take the chances like I normally see him do,” Bradley explained of Pacquiao. “When he gets a guy hurt or stung, he’ll go after him. Like I said, that’s the compassionate Manny. I still think he’s like that.”

Bradley was able to get a deeper sense of just how truly grounded Pacquiao is while coming face to face with him during Monday’s promotional shoot for HBO.

“At the face off, he couldn’t even say that he wanted to knock me out,” a seemingly bemused Bradley claimed. “That he’s going to knock me out. You know what I mean? It’s like he’s so humbled and he believes in what he believes in. He’s a real man.”

Bradley suffered injuries to both of his feet in the first Pacquiao encounter and seems to take comfort in the belief that he will go into the rematch a far different man.

“Because I’m going to be healthy,” said Bradley. “Styles make fights and Manny’s a difficult style to deal with because he’s so fast and like I said, he uses his feet very well; his movement. This fight is not going to be easy by no means. It’s going to be a tough fight.”

Tim Bradley is the type of person who leaves little to the imagination.

So upfront and confident is Bradley about his abilities as a prizefighter that it’s easy to gravitate towards him and get a little caught up in the rhetoric.

Heading into his April 12 rematch with Manny Pacquiao, Bradley knows all too well how crucial a convincing victory is in the wake of his controversial split-decision win in their first encounter 20 months ago.

“For me, my label is ‘Redemption’,” Bradley explained while speaking to various media members at the Pacquiao-Bradley II kickoff press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

“That word right there sticks with me because I beat this guy already but nobody believed that I did,” Bradley continued. “I didn’t get any credit for it but now I need to get that credit. This fight has to happen so I can sleep at night. I need this fight just as well as he needs this fight.”

Asked what he must do in order to leave no doubt the second time around, Bradley got bold and pondered the possibility of scoring a stoppage victory over Pacquiao.

“Man, if I could knock him out somehow, that would be the exclamation point right there and my stock would go through the roof,” Bradley explained. “Everybody would be on the Tim Bradley bandwagon. If I win a close decision, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’ll be happy with it but I don’t know that everybody else would be happy.”
