As the Sep. 12 Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto matchup pushes closer, all indications point towards both men taking the contest extremely seriously ahead of their welterweight title showdown. The matchup is set for SHOWTIME pay per view inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

At the 30-day weigh-in, Mayweather hit the scales at 149.8 pounds while Berto was eight pounds over at 155.

Earlier this week, inside of Barry’s Boxing in Las Vegas, Nev., former IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter was seen putting in some spirited rounds with former three-division titlist Shane Mosley.

It’s always great to see fighters in the game helping each other out, whether in or out of the ring. Porter is coming off of his biggest victory to date, a June 20 decision over Adrien Broner, while Mosley is looking towards an Aug. 29 rematch with Ricardo Mayorga in Los Angeles.

It seems like just yesterday that we were in the trenches with Shane Mosley Jr. inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club, as the now 24-year old prospect was seen putting in some tough work with super middleweight banger Lanell “KO” Bellows.

Mosley is now 4-1 as a pro and has shown a definite improvement to his game the past year. The son of the living legend of the same name put in some more good work earlier this week when he and fellow middleweight Denis Douglin (19-4, 12 KO’s) got down inside of Barry’s Boxing.

Mayweather announced the news on his Instagram Page and while Berto, who has gone just 3-3 in his last six bouts, may be a heavy underdog, his trainer Virgil Hunter sees no other choice then to go into the bout with full confidence.
