It’s been a few years since we crossed paths with undefeated Mexican star Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez.

Inside the doors of Able Sanchez’s Summit Gym in Big Bear, Calif. is when I first remember seeing Ramirez and his team, as they were in camp working with Gennady Golovkin and a slew of other prospects, contenders, and champions.

Amir Khan admits mistakes heading into Chris Algieri fight; plans to discuss with Virgil Hunter soon

This past Saturday night, inside of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Amir Khan overcame a very courageous Chris Algieri over 12 rounds.

Algieri was coming off of a lopsided unanimous decision defeat to Manny Pacquiao in November and he was a heavy underdog. Instead, the sharp-witted New Yorker found a way to prove the odds wrong by putting up a very spirited effort and even catching Khan with some big shots along the way.

More photos as WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (33-0, 32 KO’s) puts in work ahead of his June 13 showdown vs. contender Eric Molina.

Wilder is one of the more engaging characters in the sport and he is coming off of a title-winning victory over Bermane Stiverne this past January that saw him fukfill much of the potential many had bestowed upon him following his bronze medal in 2008.

NBA Finals Preview: Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The matchup for the 2015 NBA finals is set, and it’s not surprising given the talent on both teams. Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors handled the Houston Rockets to move on to their first NBA finals since 1975. The Warriors finals berth comes a day after the Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Atlanta Hawks.

Both the Cavaliers and Warriors share several similarities. Each team has a long history of losing: Cavaliers have never won a NBA championship while the Warriors won three but two were while they were still the Philadelphia Warriors. The Warriors have more of a storied history than the Cavaliers with such greats as Rick Barry and Chris Mullins. The most recent generation of basketball fans, knows the Warriors for the Baron Davis lead squad that upset the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the 2007 NBA playoffs.
