This weekend, in Carson, Calif., undefeated welterweight prospect Nick Frese (5-0, 5 KO’s) will return to the ring to face off with Nam Phan (3-2-1, 2 KO’s) inside of the StubHub Center. The bout will take place as an undercard attraction to the HBO triple header featuring Sor Rungvisai vs. Roman Gonzalez II as the headliner.

Frese, 23, has been working ardently both in Las Vegas while training with Cuban trainer Ismael Salas, as well as in his hometown of Thailand. Frese has tremendous talent and is a prospect worth keeping an eye on.

The moment is once again here for Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev. The two men faced off on Friday afternoon, inside of the Mandalay Bay Events Center, in Las Vegas, Nev., at their official weigh-in ahead of tonight’s rematch.

Ward (31-0, 15 KO’s) will defend his IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight titles against Kovalev (30-1-1, 26 KO’s) inside of the Mandalay Bay on HBO pay per view. Ward claimed the belts this past November, when he edged Kovalev via three 114-113 scorecards to claim victory after rising from a second round knockdown.

Canelo Alvarez Dominates Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Las Vegas [Post-Fight Coverage]

On Saturday night, May 6, Mexican superstar and junior middleweight world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez dominated an outmatched former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over twelve one-sided rounds. Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KO’s) was far too strong, poised, and precise throughout their HBO pay per view matchup inside of the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

With over 20,500 partisans in attendance for another wild Cinco De Mayo weekend, Alvarez proved himself to be far superior in every category, often tagging Chavez with sharp blows. Following twelve rounds, scores of 120-108 were read across the board for the Jalisco-born fighter, who continues to cement himself as the sport’s biggest star.

On Wednesday afternoon, WBO junior middleweight world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and former WBC junior middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. came face to face at their final press conference ahead of their big match this weekend. The two fighters face off on Saturday, May 6 from the T-Mobile Arena on HBO pay per view.

Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KO’s) and Chavez (50-2-1, 32 KO’s) both understand the importance of this matchup and they are each carrying a professional, subdued approach as the days go by.

On Saturday night, Nov. 26, inside of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, WBO junior featherweight champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko won a fairly-easy seventh-round stoppage over former featherweight titlist Nicholas “Axe Man” Walters.

Lomachenko was simply in another league, as his great footwork kept him constantly out of harm’s way, while he tagged and countered an onrushing Walters more and more as the rounds went by. After the seventh round, a stanza in which Walters was battered around the ring, the tough Jamaican elected to stay on his stool instead of coming out for more punishment.

The matchup pits the savvy technique of Lomachenko against the grit and power of Walters. It’s a great clash of styles and not surprisingly, Lomachenko is heavily favored despite the stern task ahead of him.

On Saturday night, lineal light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1, 26 KO’s) and former super middleweight champion Andre Ward (30-0, 15 KO’s) will meet inside of the T-Mobile Arena in an HBO pay per view attraction.

On the undercard, middleweight contender Curtis “Cerebral Assassin” Stevens (28-5, 21 KO’s) will face off with upset-minded James De La Rosa (23-4, 13 KO’s). In his last match, this past May 7 on the Amir Khan vs. Canelo Alvarez undercard, Stevens stopped previously unbeaten Patrick Teixeira (26-1, 22 KO’s) in devastating fashion.

On Saturday night, May 7, WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez stopped a courageous Amir Khan in the sixth round of their HBO pay per view showdown from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Canelo (47-1-1, 33 KO’s) had a little trouble early on adapting to Khan’s style, as the British star and former junior welterweight titlist stuck to moving and boxing  early on. Through four rounds several outlets had Khan ahead of Canelo, who was patiently biding his time.

As soon as it was revealed that WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez would be making the first defense of his title against former junior welterweight titlist Amir Khan, speculation began to run about the size difference between the two men.

Canelo (46-1-1, 32 KO’s) has always been a solid junior middleweight, who has came into the ring well over 170 pounds on certain fight nights, while Khan (31-3, 19 KO’s) is moving up in weight following a three-fight stint in the welterweight ranks.

On Tuesday, May 3, WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan made their grand arrival to Las Vegas ahead of their HBO pay per view clash this Saturday night from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Canelo (46-1-1, 32 KO’s) and Khan (31-3, 19 KO’s) are both exuding extreme confidence ahead of this matchup, although Alvarez is the clear betting favorite to his obvious advantage in size. Canelo is coming off of one of his most complete performances to date, as he defeated Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto over 12 rounds this past November.

On Saturday night, April 23, WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (35-0, 32 KO’s) overpowered contender Dominic Wade (18-1, 12 KO’s) for an easy second round knockout.

Golovkin registered a knockdown in the first round off of a big right hand and the writing was on the wall. Two more knockdowns followed in round two, and referee Jack Reiss called a halt to the match.

It was business as usual for Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night, April 23, as he faced off with contender Dominic Wade inside of the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

Golovkin (35-0, 32 KO’s) was on another level than his Maryland-born opponent, as he dropped him in the first round with a right cross. Two more knockdowns followed in round two, with referee Jack Reiss wisely waiving the match off after the second.

Pacquiao (57-8-2, 38 KO’s) dropped Bradley (33-2-1, 13 KO’s) twice in the second half of the fight and may indeed be retiring after this victory.

On Saturday night, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao defeated former two-division titlist Timothy Bradley in clear fashion.

There were several close rounds, yet Pacquiao (57-8-2, 38 KO’s) again dominated key spots over the second half of the match, dropping Bradley (33-2-1, 13 KO’s) in rounds seven and nine. Nothing is for certain regarding Pacquiao’s future, yet the Filipino icon appears to be hinting towards retirement.

Moments ago, from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev., eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao captued a clear unanimous decision victory against friendly rival Tim Bradley.

Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KO’s) started cautiously against Bradley (33-2-1, 13 KO’s), as the two men appeared to trade the early rounds. Pacquiao’s class began to show in the middle rounds, as he began picking Bradley off with sharp counters.

Later tonight, inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., Manny Pacquiao will face Tim Bradley for the third time in a welterweight attraction on HBO pay per view.

For this particular camp, Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KO’s) again worked with lightweight contender Lydell Rhodes, both in the Philippines and in Los Angeles. Hustle Boss caught up with Rhodes following yesterday’s weigh-in and he seems to feel his friend will find a way to perform under pressure.

Later tonight, inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will meet two-division titlist Tim Bradley in a trilogy showdown on HBO pay per view.

At yesterday’s weigh-in, Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KO’s) hit the scales at 146.5 pounds while Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KO’s) came in weighing 145.5 pounds. Pacquiao, the beloved Filipino icon, claims this will be his last official fight but there is a lingering sense that he will keep competing after this.
