This past Friday night, inside of the DC Armory in Washington, D.C., four-division world champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner halted a game Ashley Theophane in under nine rounds of action.

Broner (32-2, 24 KO’s) established early command of the fight against Theophane (39-7-1, 11 KO’s) and appeared to stun his UK foe a few times in the early rounds. Theophane, to his credit, fought valiantly and attempted to rally in the middle rounds.

On Saturday night, inside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. former junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia overcame a spirited effort from former multi-division titlist Robert Guerrero to capture a unanimous decision victory.

With the victory, which was a Premier Boxing Champions telecast on Fox, Garcia moves to 32-0 with 18 knockouts, while picking up the vacant WBC welterweight title, as Guerrero falls to 33-4-1 with 18 knockouts.

On Friday night, Dec. 19, from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., a Premier Boxing Champions telecast on Spike TV took place, featuring a lightweight title bout Cuba’s Rances Barthelemy and Russia’s Denis Shafikov.

Barthelemy would defeat Shafikov via unanimous decision to capture the vacant IBF lightweight title. Hustle Boss arrived to the venue a little after 4 pm, as Mickey Bey was in the early rounds of some heated action with Philadelphis’ Naim Nelson.

Davis had a breakthrough 2015 in many ways and is now a big part of Mayweather Promotions’ future.

On Saturday, Dec. 18, undefeated junior middleweight prospect Chris Pearson (13-0, 10 KO’s) will return to the ring when he faces off with fellow unbeaten Eric “Baby Face” Johnson (11-0, 6 KO’s) inside of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.

Pearson vs. Johnson will be part of a Premier Boxing Champions card televised by Spike TV, headlined by Cuba’s Rances Barthelemy and Russia’s Denis Shafikov squaring off for the vacant IBF lightweight title.

When we found out that Damien “Sugar” Vasquez was set to be a part of the Premier Boxing Champions movement, we knew it marked a significant moment in his young career.

We began hearing about Vasquez back when he was just 15 years old and making a name for himself in the city by sparring some veteran pros at the time. Vasquez made his pro debut down in Mexico at just 16 years of age and he began racking up the wins as his career has progressed.

On Saturday night, inside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Leo Santa Cruz overcame a spirited effort from Abner Mares in front of a raucous crowd to capture a majority-decision victory.

In what may be the most definitive fight to date on the “Premier Boxing Champions” series, the ESPN-televised affair had plenty to offer its fans. Mares came out of the gates swinging but it was Santa Cruz who settled down and boxed a masterful fight from the fourth round on.

The bout took place on ESPN’s airwaves as a “Premier Boxing Champions” telecast and the action didn’t disappoint.

On Saturday night, in Brooklyn, New York, former junior welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KO’s) stopped former two-division titlist Paulie Malignaggi (33-7, 7 KO’s) in the ninth round of their welterweight bout.

The bout was part of a “Premier Boxing Champions” show on ESPN and after a slow start, Garcia picked up the steam and repeatedly hurt Malignaggi. Referee Arthuer Mercante Jr. waived the match off at 2:22 of the round, with Malignaggi still on his feet.

Photos from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev. as “Premier Boxing Champions” on NBC showcased Cuba’s Rances Barthelemy’s domination of former lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco. by way of Sinaloa, Mexico on Sunday afternoon.

Barthelemy, who held the IBF belt briefly at 130 pounds, served notice to the junior welterweight class with this performance, as he is now compaigning at 140 pounds. In his new division, Barthelemy looks very strong and he was simply too quick and powerful for DeMarco.

Shawn Porter was Shawn Porter on Saturday night.

Inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., the 27-year old came away with a big victory over Adrien Broner after 12 rough and awkward rounds. Porter simply showed himself to be too determined, conditioned, and poised throughout the match, capturing the verdict on all three scorecards by tallies of 118-108, 115-111, and 114-112.

On Saturday night, June 20, welterweight star Errol Spence continued to stamp himself as one of the division’s emerging contenders with a one-sided 3rd round TKO over Phil Lo Greco inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Now 17-0 with 14 knockouts as his career continues to push forward, Spence is on the verge of a big fight anytime now as was actually in line for his biggest test to date against Roberto Garcia before the Weslaco, Tex. native withdrew just days prior to the match due to personal reasons.

On Saturday, June 20, former welterweight titlist Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16 KO’s) produced another strong performance in handling Adrien Broner (30-2, 22 KO’s) over 12 rounds for a unanimous decision victory.

Porter’s sheer will and tenacity appeared to give Broner a lot to think about and Shawn proved himself to be the busier and more focused fighter in the ring. Scores of 118-108, 115-111, and 114-112 were all read in the Akron native’s favor, as he produces his second straight victory following his lone defeat to Kell Brook this past August.

It was about two years ago now that trainer Robert Garcia received word that one of his star fighters, Argentina’s Marcos Maidana, would be a big underdog heading into a matchup with three-division world champion Adrien Broner in San Antonio, Tex.

Maidana would end up having a great camp down in Oxnard, Calif., for that match, ultimately scoring a big upset that led to a pair of fights with Floyd Mayweather. As for Broner, he has since bounced back with 3 decision victories over Carlos Molina, Emmanuel Taylor, and John Molina Jr.

Good to see undefeated welterweight hopeful Errol Spence Jr. get a chance to still fight on this weekend after seeing his fight with Roberto Garcia fall apart earlier this week when it was revealed that the Weslaco, Tex. native was pulling out for personal reasons.

Spence (16-0, 13 KO’s) was looking at the Garcia fight as his chance to break out and he will instead have to settle for a matchup vs. brash Phil Lo Greco, who stepped in at the last minute.
