If ever there was a fighter who fit the description of a hardcore fight fan, it very well may be Luis “Cuba” Arias.

A Milwaukee native who made the move to Vegas years back, Arias is as down to earth as they come and always keeps his eye on the latest the sport has to offer.

Floyd n Manny

By Chris Robinson

I’ve had several conversations with veteran boxing analyst Larry Merchant over the years in regards to Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao.

While admittedly not always a huge believer that the fight would happen, Merchant genuinely seems pleased to see boxing’s dream match on the near horizon, as Mayweather will face Pacquiao on May 2 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gary Russell Jr. will look to break through with his first world title when he faces WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez on March 28.

Russell (25-1, 14 KO’s) gave a very spirited effort vs. reigning champion Vasyl Lomachenko this past June but he came up short by way of majority decision, as the Ukrainian’s speed, power, and accuracy was a bit too much for him.

I have to give Deontay Wilder a lot of credit heading into his first heavyweight title shot.

The Louisiana native has shown many sides of himself, from his deep belief in his god-given abilities, his undying love for his family, and a definite mean streak and understanding of what lies in front of him.

There was much buzz in the air last night following Amir Khan’s dominant 12-round unanimous decision victory over Devon Alexander.

Facing off on Showtime’s airwaves, Khan was simply too fast, too precise, and too good for his formidable foe from St. Louis. Scorecards reading 120-108, 119-109, and 118-110 were read in the British star’s favor, as he eyes bigger business in 2015.

Following his dominant 12-round unanimous decision over St. Louis’ Devon Alexander on Saturday night, British star Amir Khan began to eye his future.

Khan, a former junior welterweight titlist, was razor sharp vs. Alexander, who seemed confused behind his southpaw stance. It was perhaps Khan’s most complete performance, as the 28-year old showed off great stamina, movement, speed, and precise punching throughout the 12 rounds.

Thurman (23-0, 21 KO’s), the WBA interim champion at 147 pounds, is a heavy betting favorite over Bundu (31-0-2, 11 KO’s), whose name is a bit obscure to many American fans.
