A champion in the 122, 126, and 130 pound weight classes during an illustrious 22-year career, Barrera is beloved by fight fans for constantly leaving everything inside of the ring during his peak fighting years.

Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO’s) will face Berto (30-3, 23 KO’s) on SHOWTIME pay per view on Sep. 12 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and he has been looking sharp, as is always the case, back in training camp.

It was officially announced this week that Floyd Mayweather will be facing off with former welterweight champion Andre Berto on Sep. 12. The bout will take place on SHOWTIME pay per view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev.

The vibe inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club has been relatively low key, polar opposite from his camp for Manny Pacquaio, and the Berto fight definitely has a different feel to it.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4,  it was confirmed that Andre Berto has indeed been selected as Floyd Mayweather’s next opponent for his Sep. 12 pay per view in Las Vegas.

Mayweather announced the news on his Instagram Page and while Berto, who has gone just 3-3 in his last six bouts, may be a heavy underdog, his trainer Virgil Hunter sees no other choice then to go into the bout with full confidence.

Earlier today it was revealed that Floyd Mayweather will indeed be facing off with former WBC welterweight titlist Andre Berto inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev. on Sep. 12.

The confirmation of the matchup, as seen on Mayweather’s personal Instagram page, ends weeks of speculation in regards to the matchup that hasn’t exactly set the world on fire.

A high-stakes junior middleweight showdown is on its way, as former IBF champion Ishe Smith will be locking horns with top-flight contender Vanes Martirosyan, with the match now having a good chance of landing on Floyd Mayweather’s upcoming pay per view on Sep. 12 in Las Vegas.

We recently caught up with Smith (27-7, 12 KO’s) inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club, where he has been working diligently with trainer Danny Smith ahead of the fight, and he had a dead set focus ahead of the matchup.

Photos from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, as former junior welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KO’s) stops former two-division titlist Paulie Malignaggi (33-7, 7 KO’s) at the 2:22 mark of the ninth round. The bout aired on ESPN as a part of another “Premier Boxing Champions” telecast.

Malignaggi has stated that he will likely forego fighting about this tough loss but the future continues to look bright for Garcia, as he is one of the biggest names in the welterweight class given his great run at 140 pounds that saw him best the likes of Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, and most recently Lamont Peterson in a tough fight.

On Saturday night, in Brooklyn, New York, former junior welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KO’s) stopped former two-division titlist Paulie Malignaggi (33-7, 7 KO’s) in the ninth round of their welterweight bout.

The bout was part of a “Premier Boxing Champions” show on ESPN and after a slow start, Garcia picked up the steam and repeatedly hurt Malignaggi. Referee Arthuer Mercante Jr. waived the match off at 2:22 of the round, with Malignaggi still on his feet.

No matter what time of the year it is, you are always sure to catch decorated trainer and former light heavyweight world champion Eddie Mustafa Muhammad working with a bevy of prospects and contenders.

A throwback luminary in the boxing world, Muhammad held the WBA crown at 175 pounds in the early 80’s and has since transitioned into one of the game’s most recognized trainers, as he now works with super middleweight contenders such as J’Leon Love and Ronald Gavril, light heavyweight contender Lionell Thompson, undefeated middleweight prospect Quatavious Cash, undefeated junior middleweight Thomas Hill, as well as WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack.
