On Saturday night, from The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, former two-division world titlist Tim Bradley  (31-1-1, 12 KO’s) and Argentina’s Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KO’s) battled to a split-draw verdict after 12 rounds of spirited action.

This weekend in Las Vegas, amidst the festivities of the Amir Khan vs. Devon Alexander matchup from the MGM Grand, it was officially announced that the highly-anticipated heavyweight title fight between WBC champion Bermae Stiverne and top contender Deontay Wilder will be taking place.

The match will take place on Jan. 17 on Showtime in what figures to be an intriguing showdown between two legitimate power punchers.

Following his dominant 12-round unanimous decision over St. Louis’ Devon Alexander on Saturday night, British star Amir Khan began to eye his future.

Khan, a former junior welterweight titlist, was razor sharp vs. Alexander, who seemed confused behind his southpaw stance. It was perhaps Khan’s most complete performance, as the 28-year old showed off great stamina, movement, speed, and precise punching throughout the 12 rounds.

Moments ago from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, former junior welterweight titlist Amir Khan produced one of his finest performances as a professional with a 12-round master class performance vs. the very tough Alexander.

Scores of 120-108, 119-109, and 118-110 were read in the British star’s favor, as Khan improves to 30-3 with 19 knockouts while Alexander drops to 26-3 with 14 early outs.

Later tonight, from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, power-punching Keith Thurman will step back into the ring when he meets up with Italian transplant Leonard Bundu (31-0-2, 11 KO’s) in a welterweight attraction.

Thurman (23-0, 21 KO’s), the WBA interim champion at 147 pounds, is a heavy betting favorite over Bundu (31-0-2, 11 KO’s), whose name is a bit obscure to many American fans.

For longtime HBO boxing analyst Harold Lederman, it’s always a welcome site to take in former two-divison world champion Tim Bradley in action.

Bradley has become a staple on the network in recent times and his recent stretch of fights vs. Ruslan Provodnikov, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Manny Pacquiao have all delivered some form of intrigue.

As is often the case, it’s been a hectic week in Las Vegas.

With two fight cards taking place later tonight from different venues, with the MGM Grand hosting Amir Khan vs. Devon Alexander and The Cosmopolitan across the street hosting the Tim Bradley vs. Diego Chaves encounter, there has been a wealth of coverage to report on.

Earlier today, inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, former world champions Amir Khan and Dev0n Alexander weighed in ahead of their Showtime-televised duel on Saturday night.

Khan (29-3, 19 KO’s) will face off with Alexander (26-2, 14 KO’s) in what he considers to be a tryout for a possible crack at Floyd Mayweather next year.

This weekend, inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, former three-division world champion Abner Mares (27-1-1, 14 KO’s) will look to keep his momentum going when he faces off with Jose Hernandez (25-4, 15 KO’s)  in a Showtime-televised attraction.

Mares is still looked at as one of the game’s top young talents and his spirits seem fully restored following his shocking first round knockout loss to Jhonny Gonzalez in August of last year.

Once again the hard-punching, soft spoken pug will find himself inside of The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the same location Chaves was when he lost a ninth-round disqualification to Brandon Rios just three months ago. This time, Chaves’ ring foe comes in the form of ultra confident former two-division titlist Tim “Desert Storm” Bradley.

If there is anything you can spot with undefeated welterweight power puncher Keith Thurman, it’s just how brash and engaging of a character he is.

Thurman meets up with Italy’s Leonard Bundu on Saturday night from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a Showtime-televised tripleheader that will see him attempt to defend his interim WBA welterweight belt. The fight takes place on the Amir Khan vs. Devon Alexander undercard.

The renown gym is still going, as evidenced by their crop of talent that showed up for the inagural session in early November.
